Continuous Liquid/Solid Separating Centrifuges

TEMA Systems Inc. is the leader in providing the highest quality continuous centrifuges for liquid/solid separations.

Since 1977 we have served North American chemical, mineral and food processing companies. The shared design between TEMA and Siebtechnik Centrifuges offers a variety of styles that can make your continuous process more efficient.

The Conturbex, Pusher, and Conthick are three types of screening centrifuges for material separation and washing. Each design uses different techniques for separating the material that have advantages depending on the process requirements. The Decanter centrifuge does separation by differences in specific gravity.

Conturbex Centrifuges

Under the product name CONTURBEX, the first horizontal worm/screen centrifuge was supplied by Siebtechnik in 1948. The CONTURBEX quickly became a global term for separation technology and centrifuge construction principle. This machine design has developed into a very versatile screening centrifuge for a wide variety of separation requirements.

Today, several thousand Siebtechnik CONTURBEX centrifuges are operating worldwide in the chemical, bulk goods processing, food products and environmental industries.

Decanter Centrifuges

Of all the machines operating on the centrifugal principle, the decanter is the most versatile centrifuge with the largest overall market share worldwide. In the light of increasingly demanding requirements of the authorities in respect of reducing the waste content in effluent and the requirement of industry for maximum possible efficiency of production plant, the decanter is gaining further importance.

Conthick Centrifuges

The design of this centrifuge is based on the technology of our CONTURBEX Worm/Screen Centrifuge with additional pre-thickening unit for high efficiency separation of low solid concentration slurry as well as high recovery of fines.

The purpose of this centrifuge is to separate solids from liquids out of a slurry. The slurry is fed via an inlet pipe to the pre-thickening part of the centrifuge via openings at the center in the worm body.

Pusher Centrifuges

Pusher CentrifugeYou will realize operating, performance, and cost benefits with TEMA-Siebtechnik's new, patented SHS/ZK Pusher design. The wet end of the Pusher features a longer conical screen, which gives you increased through-put capacity, greater washing efficiency, and lower final moisture. This patented design features a combination cylindrical/conical screening area, which results in improved capacity over common two-stage designs. Side-by-side tests have yielded up to 50 percent greater capacity and lower final moistures.

A special rotary transmission allows the hydraulic mechanism to be isolated from the bearing area. The improved hydraulics result in lower maintenance, easier access, and reduced downtime. Also, this design eliminates high-pressure hydraulic oil at the main shaft seal, which prevents oil leakage into the processing area via the pusher shaft, allowing additional room for positive and dependable process seal designs at the hollow shaft.
The continuously adjustable stroke length of the SHS/ZK is accessible from outside the unit. Stroke reversal is operated electrically and does not depend upon pressure.

TEMA offers both single-stage and multi-stage Pusher designs. Single-stage machines are more sensitive to fluctuations in quantity and solids concentration of the feed. Our two-stage centrifuges are the preferred choice over more complicated three and four-stage designs. These two-stage pushers offer high through-puts, combined with great reliability and flexibility. Often, they process larger quantities than four-stage machines, which cost more, are more complicated, and produce no substantial process advantages.
